Role Overview:

We are looking for a well-rounded wet lab senior scientist to join our team. You’ll be joining a small team and will play a key role in the evolution, development and culture of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

PhD or equivalent experiences in a Life Sciences subject (Microbiology, Engineering Biology, Biotechnology) - if you have plenty of experience but happen to not have a PhD please do not be discouraged from applying - we want to hear from you!
Perform wet lab sample processing for Nanopore sequencing, including carrying out plasmid sequencing runs and custom sequencing projects.
Research and Development, including designing and optimising sequencing protocols & troubleshooting any arising technical issues. You will also be involved in working with academic partners on research projects as a part of grants (and writing and shaping grant applications)
Lab management, including managing laboratory supplies and ensuring proper storage of reagents and consumables. Operating and maintaining laboratory equipment for optimum functionality and accuracy.
Client relationship management, including participating in client meetings & discussing client requirements for custom sequencing projects.
Business development, including aiding in operations and logistics planning and researching growth opportunities inline with FCL’s mission & values.
Outreach & community development - we’re looking for someone who is keen to get stuck in! We want Full Circle to be a company that supports the roots and scientific spaces it came from. If you’ve had experience running scientific networks, student clubs, symposiums or other organisations we want to hear about it.

Essential Requirements:

Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Experience with DNA sequencing (long-read sequencing experience preferred)
Self-starter & ability to independently learn new things
Positive attitude, works well in a team
Excellent organisation and communication skills
